30th October 2006 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 25-10 knots Surf / Sea State: 1-2 foot surf Air Temperature: 13ºC Sea Temperature: 14ºC Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Wind looked to be picking up so I headed across to the beach with my kit. I took the bigger board as it wasn't that windy and I fancied a change, My first run with my 5.7m was disastrous as there just wasn't enough wind, but next time it was fine and the wind then contnued to fill in, maxing out at around 22 knots with a 27 knot gust at one point. I was nicely powered with my 5.7m and big board. I still find it easier to control that board in the aire than my little Naish, I think it is simply because I see its nose when in the air, so know where it is enabling me to make sure it is where it should be! After a while the wind eased right off though and I ended up with a walk back upwind. Tomorrow still looks good though. |
